I will describe the EERC system and its visually rich capabilities for use within large urban structures, where reliable communication and automatic location detection are crucial to mitigating disasters. In addition, our current work on integrating situationally aware evacuation models into this infrastructure will be described. Lessons learnt from the first major evaluation of the system (in collaboration with UNC Charlotte police) will be briefly outlined. We will conclude with a live demo of the EERC system.
